Is it harder to START a box sliding or to KEEP it sliding?
Dragging a heavy chair, sled, or laundry basket across the floor: you heave and heave, it suddenly pops loose and shoots forward, then glides with hardly any effort. Winter sledding (the first shove vs the easy glide) is a strong seasonal framing.
Talk about it
- Guess which is harder: starting a heavy box moving, or keeping it sliding once it's going?
- Why does a sled feel stuck at first and then shoot forward all at once?
- Can you name a place where the strong static grip is actually helpful, like keeping something parked in place?
